Gold has been a part of history and society since 700 BCE with its first use being coins in ancient Egypt. In many societies gold is seen as a standard for currency. In modern day history gold is used for jewelry and technology.
What about the element?
Au or gold is a soft malleable highly unreactive transition metal. Some common alloys are yellow gold which is only 75% gold, white gold which contains gold, palladium, and other white metals, and rose gold which is gold, copper, and silver.
