Some Quick Facts
New York City is known as the Big Apple, but where did the name come from? Well the name came from a horse racing writer John J. Fitz Gerald since he believed all the big racing prizes were near NYC. The actually city has been around since the 1600’s when it was founded by the Dutch and was originally named New Amsterdam but was later changed to New York after the Duke of York seized it during the Revolutionary War.
So why NYC?
Well NYC has a little bit of everything from Central Park, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, to the Bronx Zoo. So whether your 5 or 85 NYC will have the perfect thing for you.
Well is it Expensive?
Well the answer to that is yes and no. You can go big and stay at the Ritz Carlton and shop all day and all night, or you can stay at a simple Hilton or Marriot and visit the many free opportunities. The cost of a trip to NYC is all up to you.
